For sale we have a gorgeous little 1962 Hofner Club 60 in great shape. All original components, relatively few signs of play or cosmetic wear and tear for a 50+ year old guitar. German-made excellence with a sophisticated, dressy feel but is a joy to play and achieve all sorts of wonderful lead and rhythm tones. The finish is a beautiful vintage sunburst spruce top with flame maple back and sides. Chambered, semi-hollow construction. The binding is in excellent condition with little discoloration or cracking, just some mild separation on the backside of the waist. Other signs of wear and tear (all evident in the photo series) include a few scrapes/dings on the body, some finish cracks on the back of the headstock, some worn hardware, but nothing worrisome or structural.
This is a uniquely short scale guitar with a scale length of 24.25″. Incredibly light at only 4 lbs 10 oz. A substantial 7.25″ radiused fingerboard with a 1 9/16″ nut width. The pickups have a lot of output, nicely sculpted with the switches and volume/tone pots. Signature vintage Hofner tone and craftsmanship. A smaller-framed player will find this guitar a joy to play and behold, but any player can appreciate its playability and tone.
