This is an early one! Listed on the Steinbergerworld.com registry as being made 12/22/81. It is serial #0076.
This bass has some minor scuffs and basic wear, and one decent ding to the upper side lowest corner near the output jack. Overall the graphite and fretboard are in good shape. The logo sticker is worn about 1/2 way off. The bass just received a very nice refret and plays great. Great care was taken to maintain the proper neck relief and the proper Jumbo fret size was used. Each slot was carefully prepared to receive the fret without distorting or harming the phenolic fretboard and the fret ends and crowns have a nice polish. This one sports the nut that allows the use of regular strings, not just the double ball ends. The pickups appear original and the wear patterns make them seem as though they have been there from the beginning. Everything functions just right and it sounds amazing as these do. The strap batterang is included (according to the registry it was replaced in the mid 80’s). The leg support is no longer with it.
